FRIDAY JUNE 12th STUDIO 210 Marti's studio will be open with discounts on all art and there will be refreshments. Time is from 6 PM to 9 PM with a break for the juror's talk for the all media show. Artist StatementI love the creative process. I want the painting to evolve from a clean white surface to a well-designed painting of shapes, line and color. Like many artists I didn’t always paint this way. I started painting what I saw, flowers, landscapes and etc. But I wanted to put more of myself into my work. I took a workshop with Carole Barnes and she told us to push ourselves – to paint what we felt. From that workshop I took away a new way of looking at everything. I wanted to learn more so I took workshops from Pat Dews, Carrie Burns Brown, Katherine Chang Liu and just recently Mary Todd Beam.
